Today being the 5th of the month, I just participated in the monthly tradition of permit season for good ol' ZNP. The difference in response of the permit system is like night and day of that 30 days ago - immediate response. Anyone know if upgrades were made within the last 30 days? Its amazing how responsive the permit system is now. Kudos to anyone that may have had a hand in this (especially the NPS)!!

Me Too, The system seems to be working great for me, but never had much of a problem.

It appears that Lower Refrigerator Canyon has been removed from the list of reservable canyons online?

Does anyone know why this is? I'm just curious.

Yes, someone does. (Not me, I mean, Park Staff).

WAS Lower Fridge EVER on the reservable drop-down list?

I'm sure the Park reviews their program each year and makes changes that they think serves their mission and the public. This probably includes reviewing permit numbers in the canyons and seeing which canyons are the most popular, and adding and subtracting to the online lists based on this.

My memory is telling me that is was...

but that really doesn't count as evidence that is actually was.

Yes, that canyon used to be on the list. How long does something need to be to be considered a canyon or just rappelling site though

    Heh, yeah.

I have some friends coming in to do Right Fork with me. They've never been to Zion NP and would like to hike Angel's Landing the day before. I figure we might as well add LRC into the mix. It is a fun way to get off the trail and enjoy some cheese and salami.

We hiked up Angel's Landing and stashed the ropes in the canyon on the way up so we didn't have to carry them the whole way
