    It’s that time again!

Time to enjoy hours of strenuous stemming, well above the bottom of some beautiful and challenging slots.

Batting around 2 sets of dates. Either the 22nd-25th of October, or the 5th-8th of November. We’ll decide shortly based on feedback I receive in the next few days.

If you have a preference, please let me know ASAP.

    LOCATION:
Same as usual, camping near chimney rock down Hole in the Rock Road. Here:

We’ll have a fire every night.

If the group is sufficiently large, we can split the itinerary and there is certainly the option to do easier fare in the area.

    Regarding COVID-19:

This is a social event, but there a special considerations this year.

Please don’t come if you are sick. Consider getting tested in the days leading up to the trip. Please bring hand sanitizer and your own means of taking care of human waste. There are no facilities near the camping area and what is brought should not be shared. Make every effort to reduce the risk of transmission of any pathogens.

Safety is paramount in canyoneering and these precautions are simply an extension of that philosophy.

A few objectives on the agenda for this year include:

    Big Tony
    Mumbai
    Bishop

We’re always open to suggestions too.

    Hope to see you there.

    11/5-8 would be preferred here.

Sorry, been busy with finishing up schooling and starting a new job so I haven't been checking in as frequently as usual.

Were any dates settled on? I've been talking with Anthony the last two weeks and we're looking at doing an X Fest Nov 12-15th (or at least Anthony wants to hit up those dates, I'm limited to just Sat/Sun for the foreseeable future).

    What's the job?

I might be able to free up the 7th-8th. Maybe. But I'm not quite ready to jump straight into Bishop or SOS either so it would depend on what was on the docket.

Scrub Tech at Timp. I think I’m going to be helping my dad put in a new garage door on the 7/8th

Congrats. Sounds like a big step up. Hopefully in pay too.

Even if I don't make it, I'm happy to have gotten my X in for the year already. Heck, I even managed to turn Middle Lep into an R. I think I need a diet.

No diet, just more X, that’ll burn the calories.

Actually nothing burns calories like dragging your carcass and pack through a tight canyon. Stemming above is far less strenuous.

True, but stemming still burns quite a few calories, especially if there’s up and downs involved, and it’s more fun than the low route.

Our plan is to be there the weekend of the 5th through the 8th. Some showing up late, some leaving early.

The only day I can make it would be the 7th, but I'm a potential. Only if we're doing Big Tony or Mumbai though. Gotta get in shape for Bishop

Due to the weather forecast and other circumstances, we’ve decided to cancel.

My group and I won’t be there. If anyone goes, have fun, be safe, and hopefully we’ll see you next year.

Wuss. What kind of an X-man bails out just because it's going to snow? You'll be like 40 feet above the flash flood.
