Off topic? Maybe, but not really...the environment, yes, but not the realities. The ongoing effort to rescue 12 boys and their coach from what would have certainly been a watery grave without the intense SAR efforts in Thailand provides great (and sobering) principles of skill/education/avoidance in extreme environments under adverse conditions. Not up for discussion is the lack of judgement in how and why they got there. Hand-wringing is a spectator's sport. Like many of you I have been closely following the Assess - Weigh Risk – Take Action – Reassess & Repeat efforts of these professionals and volunteers. Hopefully there will be a happy resolution to this rescue without further loss of life. It ain’t over until it’s over, though. I like this summation as a succinct overview. Be careful out there and above all use good judgement.
