Looking for a good solution for us to label rope lengths and cap ends. Most of our ropes are canyon tech. (Current system is tape, write lengths then put plastic shrink tubing over and heat. Works for the first few canyons but then comes off.)

Use glue lined heat-shrink tubing. pick a solid color and write the length with a sharpie.

Or, get clear tubing and write the length on a small band of paper with a sharpie. Put tubing over paper.

All that gack at your rope end can hang up at the quick link on tough pulls.
If / when the sheath slips you could end up with an even worse blob that is hard to 'milk off' the core.
I use a little vinyl cement (flexible) to keep the end from un-raveling then use a sharpie to write the length.
Have to relabel every few uses though.

Do you guys label your rope lengths because as they get used you keep cutting the bad parts off and the rope keep changing in length? Or do you all just own so many ropes that you can't keep track of lengths in your head anymore? Or some other reason?
