I saw that they sell this Mini-8 at the gas station/burger place in Hanksville.
It cost $20 and is small and light, which got me curious.
Anyone have any first-hand experience with this? What do you think?

I carry one as a back-up because of the smallness and lightness. I've used it through a few canyons and it has a fair amount of friction, I usually hook it up more like an ATS than a figure 8. You can add more friction with the horns if need be. Because of the smallness I probably wouldn't use it as an everyday descender, there's not a lot of material to wear through, but it's great as a back-up.
