Do you have a closer pic of the tail? If so, you can Google it and see who it’s registered too. I can’t tell from this photo.

But it’s an A-star helicopter which is made by Airbus. And UHP (Utah Highway Patrol) flies them but, they aren’t blacked out like this one is. So my guess…just some rich dude.

Tricky anchor off that last big place from the looks of it. What did you go with?

Ahhh...you know all those forum posts about emergency bolt kits and how no one ever really uses them, even though they always carry them?

Well this day...we sadly placed a bolt. As justification, it was an exploration and there were no alternative anchors that allowed for a clean-reliable pull and/or instilled confidence that the rope would reach (we needed most of out 520'er). Before any one says, " you coulda used a water pocket!" sure, maybe... but ain't no one carrying a waterpocket when pack weight is pushing 50lbs on a three day trip and carrying a bolt kit is a wise move despite.
