My husband and I are looking at being in the Jasper area mid-February. I don't know Arkansas well enough to know if this is an alright time to do some canyons? If so, any recommendations? Thanks in advance!

Wow...talk about not on my radar.

I'd think it could be kinda chilly in Jasper that time of year. 52 average high and 32 average low.

Jasper is a great hang. Fun place to base out of for the awesome rock climbing in the area. Cave Creek, Sam's Throne, and of course, Horseshoe Canyon Ranch.

Hey who is that last name? A famed canyoneer? Yup! Proud Papi
Won the lottery. Exempt for next year if he wants back. Drove there, did the 24 hour, drove back.

Looks like he crushed that no talent scribbler Jeremy Collins too (who's signed Half Dome sketch hangs proudly in my home)!

    10th in team competition. Sweet!

Fun place to climb. Not sure I could hang for more than a half day, though...that place is steep! Ha ha...

He was first place and by far, of all first time participants, let alone never having been there before. He spoke at length this AM of how knowledge of the routes and the comp, will be a HUGE advantage next round, if he goes back. Hope he does
