Picked up a pair of the new La Sportiva Xplorer today. I got about 50 canyons out of the last pair so I was pretty happy with them ImageUploadedByTapatalk1398402303.849012.

Cool. I've moved to the Camp Four (Five Ten) shoe. LOVE IT.

I looked at them. Was worried about the leather in wet canyons of shrinking and getting hard. Not sure if that would ever be an issue or not

Mine (Camp Four) have been through 20+ canyons so far (a lot that were wet/swimmers), and they still look and feel new. I sealed the seams after I first bought them.

That's cool. Maybe my concerns were ill advised. I like my five ten canyoneers but I mainly only use them for really wet canyons

How do you compare the stickiness of the rubber to the 5-10s?
(I have a pair of the high top La Sportivas but have not tried them yet in the canyons)

Exactly the same sole. Huge reason I got them.

This has been an issue with the Camp Fours for me. After about 30 or so canyons the leather hardened and would cause painful hot spots when hiking. My solution was to soak the shoes the night before a canyon. In the morning they would be a little damp, but the leather would be supple and not cause any pain when hiking.

I'd love to try a pair of the La Sportiva Explorers, but I cant find anywhere in AZ that has them to try on and I have heard they may be a little skinny for my fat feet!

Will have to report back after I go another 10 times or so. Good advice on the soak, haven't needed to do that. Thanks.
