70 year old guy climbs and descends chimney. And he's buff!

This past June at Castle Rock in Idaho....Ralph and Jim...both 75. Both, still crushin' it. Ralph is watching Kim, local hardman, lead a route. Kim's mid 60's. Ralph's probably watching because its rare to see Kim climb with a rope (ha ha).

I too would like to see Tom downclimb like that. I'll offer to record and post the event on here.

The linked article is about the importance of grizzly bears (they should not be delisted); here is a picture of Barrie Gilbert, an 81 year-old who still hikes off-trail in Yellowstone's backcountry: https://www.counterpunch.org/2019/0...er-way-of-friends-science-politics-and-bears/

Earlier in his life, he survived being mauled by a grizzly. And he doesn't hold a grudge either.

Barrie is an exceptional person, but the point being that some older folks are fit and strong and capable of handling the challenges that wilderness presents.

This is my mother enjoying her first technical canyon on her 70th birthday (West Lep). It was very muddy but she loved it!
