From Poe and Kaleidoscope, to the present. An ambassador of the sport and we wish you a Happy Breathe Day
Unlike Jack Benny, you can't stay 39 forever. This is YOU - 39 years ago pulling the 1st rap in Behunin.
These photos leave me in awe. How lucky for me and everyone that there are teachers like Jenny out there.
Okay, enough! Thank you all for your kind words and the photos of great memories. But enough. I'm not worthy. A while ago I could rack up 100+ days in the canyons each year. Then I would say, "My best ability is my availability". That is no longer the case. Now I reply, "I'm not special, I'm just old". I am truly grateful for the decades of wonderful partners and canyons I've experienced. Never give in to Gravity or Time. I'm calling out the few partners that I have that are still going after "it" and that are older than dirt.... ....I mean older than I am. Mike Bogart (The Halls Creek slots, 1981) Fun Hog Extraordinaire. Steve Allen Rick Demarest and the illusive Andy Archibald There are a few others, but I can't recall (blame it on Gravity and Time).
Back-atcha girl... Where we met so many roads & rivers ago. With Ram & Dan and a whole rag-tag collection of folks that thought it was only a river trip... What Can I Say What can I say that I have not said before? So I'll say it again. The leaf has a song in it. Stone is the face of patience. Inside the river there is an unfinishable story and you are somewhere in it and it will never end until all ends. Take your busy heart to the art museum and the chamber of commerce but take it also to the forest. The song you heard singing in the leaf when you were a child is singing still. I am of years lived, so far, seventy-four, and the leaf is singing still. Mary Oliver
