How to Make Rope Grooves

    This is one way to make rope grooves -

    - rappel down to a place with lots of anchor material.
    - turn a corner, the rope crossing the rock at a sharp angle, and continue rappelling.

    At this place in Boundary Canyon (Zion), it is easily downclimbable from that loggy place at the bottom. No reason to continue on rappel. If it was not easily downclimbable from there, it would also be easy enough to set up another anchor there. (This is similar to the top of East Leprechaun (North Wash) with those nasty grooves in a fin.)

    That rope was pulled from the logs below and reset for the last person. We had a big group and wanted to keep people moving through
