The sound is terrible for most of it, and there is 2 minutes of making the sand Quick, but... and interesting idea. Might work on our quicksand here.

The one above is probably more likely in terms of self-rescue (less the aboriginal dance to create it).
This one raises the ante on how one could get in serious trouble. (Not waiting around for 8 minutes might be a starter.)



I've never been stuck in quicksand but have had the boots sucked off my feet in mud a few times.

This is a huge problem in Cook Inlet around Anchorage, which is a lot like the area around Mont Saint Michel. The fire departments for years have used a machine that pushes air in around your feet to loosen the suction. Hopefully they get to you in time before the world's third biggest tide gets to you.
