A big shout out to all of you with whom I participated in three (3) Freeze Fests and to those others that I have chatted with or done canyons together since 2005. While I have moved beyond doing canyons for the immediate future that doesn't mean I've forgotten those good and even a few bad experiences as I think about you and this sport on a daily basis. Having the Canyon Collective allows me to continue to live yours and my experiences with the pictures and the dialogs beginning with my first post on Yahoo Groups when I wondered who was this guy named Koen (sic) in Europe who was talking about the weather. Ram quickly chastised me by discreetly telling me that Koen (sic) was quite the experienced canyoneer from Europe and probably did have a very thorough knowledge of the weather. Lesson learned and I moved on from there. Here are a couple of pics: Top of the Black Hole; Cooking yakisoba for 15; Contemplating the trip ahead; Camping on top of the snow.
