Frist trip through Not Imlay for the season. We replaced part of the webbing around the tree from the first anchor (the brown webbing lower left pic below) and all the webbing and quick link from the last rap. We did not use the third anchor into the v-slot stemming down climb section. Anyone needing that anchor will need to replace it. All other anchors are in good shape.

Not Imlay was a great trip. We took just under 12 hours...partly because we had two guys (carrying all the ropes) plus my wife (who rocked her first 200+ foot rappel and her first stemming) and partly because we did 4 other canyons the 3 days prior!!! Narrows flow rate was 100-110 and it was swift in places. We were able to stay dry above our waist. Weather was about the max of what I would wish to do for the hike up...I think it was the mid 90s. We were able to stay in the shade through Scouts Lookout and up the steep section to the saddle before making the right turn down canyon.

And...just for other notes...Key Hole is very cold. Pine Creek is also cold and very full. The third to last rap has lost a lost of sand and the bolts are about 8 feet off the floor. Luckily someone was able to sling it recently. Wet suites for both. Spry has one chest deep walk (I'm 6' 2") and a few other water crossings if I remember...maybe one short full swimmer too. We did not have wet suits and we're fine. There was a rattle snake below the last rap...hopefully he has moved on by now. Mystery (which we were able to get a Tuesday trip walk up for 6 at 9:00 am on Monday...crazy right...but Monday was the first full day the narrows was open) has good anchors. I think we were the second/third group through. No wet suit. The spring rap is a short swim...about 8 feet. All anchors in these canyons (less the note for Not Imlay above and one that I rigged poorly in Spry and will need to be rerigged) are good as of the end of June.[IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG]

Yea...I don't take people on trips without a helmet. Not worth my effort to rescue them if the they get hurt because they don't have a helmet. And besides...I don't want to get on someone's bad side...I still need his books and gear!!! Ha!!!!

    Thanks Brian in SLC.
