Now is a good time for people to dig out old photos and post trip reports. Please. Can't really go canyoneering, how about some virtual canyoneering?

Rappin into Coin Slot above Frisco, CO. Thats Interstate 70 in the background. 90 foot rap so folks usually bring a 200 foot rope to double line. Second time down this couloir so decided to bring a 100 foot rope and use a smooth operator and pullcord to save rope and ghost it. That may have been a first on this route.

If you want a change of scenery, here's an old-ish video from a couple of years back that I hadn't really posted anywhere.

It was on the 29th of February, so not too long ago. Before the more recent rains and snow. Overall it was a surprisingly warm day, I managed to get by in a t-shirt and shorts without being too cold (barely!...not advised) We settled on Jacob because of its lack of water and southern exposure. The canyon was pretty dry (besides that one pool). The only abnormally spicy part was on the descent off Lady Mountain before the head of the canyon, the snow there warranted an added rappel down the slabs and some extra slick and exposed downclimbing. Surprisingly we found no snow in the canyon. Overall a wonderful day.

Here's a picture I took about two Septembers ago at the confluence of the Middle and East Fork of Bull Canyon. It gives a good impression of how cavelike the slot gets. It was just after a big rain storm, I think, so the canyon was very wet with some surprisingly warm water. I did it after Chambers and accessed both from Angel Cove. This one is definitely in my top six favourite canyon in Utah.

Hidden in the folds of the Book Cliffs northeast of GJ is a fun place called Horseshoe Canyon, it has a tiny mini slot in the bottom of a nice forested canyon. Not a marquee canyon in any sort of the imagination, but a fun and obscure destination. I like to call it "Horshette".

Brandon, Trevor and I took some newbs through Blarney (West Fork) last Feb. Such a fun little canyon and perfect to introduce new people to. I was actually the only one that had done Blarney Before, so it was new to everyone except me. Swore last time that I would downclimb the drops after the first mandatory one and so Brandon and I did. So much fun to watch newbs' faces as we downclimbed the drop they just rappelled.
