The approaches to the Death Valley canyons were always memorable. In some cases they were the best part of the day (ROCK Canyon). Here's a shot of Mac climbing up to Charon Canyon above Badwater Basin. Anyone else have some? I remember a few "Hillary Step" moments.

Such a beautiful shot River. Love those death valley ridge scrambles. Here's one with Telescope Peak across the valley.

We got sidetracked on Sunday on our way back from Portal Canyon and found ourselves benighted at the Great Mimosa Dunes....

My first DV canyons and I was mostly focused on avoiding sliding to my certain death as opposed to photography, but here's one as we neared the drop-in for Deimos. demios_approach.

yep, that's them - good eye! Did you try opening the picture in a different window? Can zoom nicely that way (in Chrome, at least)

Yeah right. Me opening a window? I can barely close the door and forget about turning the light off. I looked a good long time and saw nothing. It was the magnifying glass that did the trick. That was vicarious fun
