Todd at Canyon Werks has his main business, making stuff for the shows in Las Vegas, and that business is doing quite well. So well, in fact, that he does not have time on his CNC machine to make Critrs, nor to find a new vendor to outsource them to. He has chosen to transfer the project to Imlay Canyon Gear, on very generous terms.

Todd has a couple hundred more to make, but they will not get on the CNC machine for... well, hard to say. Not soon. When the space opens up, they will be cut.

I am starting in the process of finding someone to make them, but I do not make this kind of object yet, so it might be a while before I get set up and running. If I get up and running before Todd has time available, I will probably buy the raw aluminum from Todd that he has remaining.

Long story short, Critrs will not be available for several weeks to several months. Some dealers have them available - I know ZAC in Springdale has at least a small supply. When they become available, the price might be higher. I will try to do more colors, but who knows.

I will try to keep the many fans of the Critr updated.

Good to know they will still be made, a favorite of most. I did meet a machinist this weekend.. perhaps I could reach out in hopes of help if you need it, although I wouldn’t expect it to cause you much pause. Thanks for the update!

I was doing some research on the Critr and stumbled upon this forum. I just so happen to be the Shop Manager at Ideal Machine in Spanish Fork Utah. We are a job shop machine shop that does a little bit of everything. If you are still needing someone to machine these for you, I might be able to help. Send me an email at info@webuildparts.com with volumes you are thinking and I can send you a quote. I have a Critr that I bought last year for Heaps (I felt like I could have used more friction options on a previous attempt) that I can use to generate a quote as soon as I have volume numbers to bring the cost down.

I have quite a few leads at the moment, that I am exploring. Might explore more later, but for now I am set, thanks to all.

A Quick Note to everyone waiting for CRITRs!
We apologize for running out!
While the hand-off to Tom is in progress Canyonwerks WILL be freeing up a machine and producing one more batch (or two).
Soon, as in 3-4 weeks or so.
Desi and I would like to thank all of you for your support in developing and purchasing the CRITR2 rappel device.
Re-appearing at your local canyon supply store, soon.
    Best
    Todd

Todd has been nursing a batch through the process, and we hope to have some in a week to 10 days, for shipment.

You may want to talk to Rock Thompson at Rock Exotica in Clearfield UT and see if they could make them for you.
