READ THE FULL ARTICLE SOCAL SPRING ROUND-UP EVENT 2019 Please join CAC and other Southern California canyoneers for the 2nd annual SoCal Spring Round-up event! This free event will be held March 29-31, 2019. We will be running canyons across the San Gabriels and San Bernardino mountains, with campsites at Bonita Ranch in San Bernardino. This is a great opportunity to meet local canyoneers and experience SoCal's best canyons (especially after this wet winter!). In addition, there will be a potluck and raffle on Mar. 30 at the Bonita Ranch Campground. Raffle items will include gear, ropes, and other canyon-related items. All proceeds from the raffle will be donated to the CAC. Please consider supporting us and our mission through participation in the raffle. READ THE FULL ARTICLE RIC COLUMBIA 2019 ANNOUNCEMENT The RIC Colombia 2019 will be held from 29 September to 5 October in Medellín, Colombia. This event has been organized in a slightly different way than past canyon festivals. A great deal of attention is given to canyon safety. Participants will coordinate with staff at the canyon entrance and exit. There is extensive rescue coverage from 0700 to 1900 hours. Local people are involved in participant transportation to and from the canyons. There is an Adventure Film Festival wherein people bring short videos made beforehand. There is a photo contest at the end of the week. A canyon competition will be held for those wishing to hone their skills. This level of organization necessitates early registration and payment of fees in order to accommodate many people from around the world. Fees for participation will be collected regionally in the USA, Europe, Ecuador, Brazil, Puerto Rico and Colombia. All participants from the USA should register through Sonny Lawrence.
