    I have, several times. Just seems simpler to carry through. It is only an additional 3 lb 14 oz (in Canyon Fire), of a 300'er over a 200'er. (210 actually). If doing with 2 people I might consider it.

    Yes, that happened to us once when a bad throw lost a 200' in a deep water pothole. I did the final rap, hiked to the shutlle, got another 200' in town and hiked back so that Bill W could descend. He was on the bird's nest long enough to lay some eggs.... :)

    Agreed. I carried it through once. Not really a problem comopared to the lowering setup if stored at bottom.
