About to open up? Backpacking season for 2021 started 5 1/2 months ago and will be half way over in about two weeks. Anyway I'll post some photos when I'm near the computer.

Here is my wish list for this year, though many of the peaks and climbs themselves are also backpacking trips:

Best is in the eye of the beholder, but here are the backpacking trips I went on so far this year. Listed most recent to least recent. Most backpacking trips so far this year were pretty mellow. The only ones that weren't were Mount Columbia in February where we camped in -15 degree weather (without the windchill) and climbed the 14,087 feet mountain on a very cold and windy day. It was the coldest day of the winter in much of Colorado. The other challenging one was the loop of Burro, Cottonwood, and Thompson Canyons last April

June 2021: West Fork Oak Creek





May 2021: Boulder Creek/Deer Creek







April 2021: Fisher Creek, Burro Canyon, Thompson Canyon





March 2021: Sids Mountain and North Salt Wash



March 2021: Silver Falls Creek





February 2021: Mount Columbia (Colorado 14er)



January 2021: Bison Peak and Lost Creek Wilderness





That does it so far this year for backpacking trips.

Just for the heck of it, here are the backpacking trips I did in 2020. List most recent to least. Since the longest one was only 52 miles, most were pretty mellow. Exceptions were Peak 4906, Roubideau Canyon, Parashant, and the Book Cliffs Loop.

November 2020: Ticaboo Creek/Peak 4906 (probably a first ascent of the peak)



October/November 2021: Knowles Canyon





September 2020: Roubideau Canyon



September 2020: Blanca Peak/Ellingwood Point/Little Bear Peak







July 2020: Mount Wilson





May 2020: Scorpion Gulch and Escalante River Loop







April 2020: Mee Canyon





April 2020: Jones Canyon





February-March: Hunter Creek and Bald Knob





February 2020: Snake Gulch

We are doing the John Muir trail end of August and first half of September

We plan on knocking out some segments of the CO trail later this summer.

20-40 mile through hikes in North Cascades; maybe bang out a peak or two with @Ram whenever it is he moseys this way
