backing up the MaXXiPad or Sandtrap.....

Discussion in 'Archives - Yahoo Canyons Group' started by Steve Woodford, Jul 12, 2010.

  1. What Bill says is very true. If you watch the YouTube video I made on using the MaXXiPad, in one sequence where Dean is starting his rap over the edge of a 120ft rap from a flat surface, you will notice John standing with one foot on the rap rope. This is usually the backup that we used when first testing the original MaXXiPad in Powell canyons. We never tied in a meat-anchor as backup as we did not find this necessary. A backup person standing by the flat sand filled MaXXiPad ready to put full weight on it, is more than enough. But if you feel more comfortable with a meat anchor tie-in, then go for it. I have also tested a new way to make the retrieval pull much easier, especially over long friction slopes and edges. Will post soon. Be Safe, Steve W.(Inventor of the original MaXXiPad.)
