Has anybody been into the Ouray canyons this year? What is the snow pack directly around Ouray? Parts of SW colorado had like 1800% above average snowpack a month ago, other parts were below average.
Curious about this as well....Some parts of CO are still having really high water levels but like you said, other parts it was a normal or even below average winter. The Lake Fork Gunnison, Uncompahgre, and San Mig basins all ran big and hard this year, but curious to see how much snow still remains. Been seeing pictures on my social media feeds of friends getting out and starting to climb peaks, go bike riding, etc, so its melting fast. Wonder how much is left....
This doesn't answer Ouray directly, but is just South. http://waterdata.usgs.gov/nwis/uv/?site_no=09359010&PARAmeter_cd=00060,00065 Just North http://waterdata.usgs.gov/usa/nwis/uv?site_no=09146200 Bottom line: I still don't know if it is "in" or not, but it is above average.
I saw a photo from a friend of a stream in flood stage near Silverton taken a week ago. I asked what creek it was, but he said it was just a random stream. I know that doesn't help much, but based off the picture I saw I would think Ouray still has high flow in the canyons.
