A Snowy Echo 2-17-16It doesn't happen every year. Usually about every 4 or 5 years. When it does, I can't resist. It happened to us the first time, in the early 90's. We descended Middle Echo, one May day, finished the short raps and came smack into a walls of ice. For the next 2 hours, we dangerously weaved our way through the snow and ice. Styx 2-14-16The place is called Slabby Acres. The named coined by the quite clever Hank Moon. An abandoned trailer park with rows of concrete slabs, in the middle of the desert. The miners that occupied this area, long gone. I arrived at 3:30 in the afternoon....and the wind was blowing. The place was a ghost town. Tents everywhere, many blown over, but few people. Black Canyon slots via packraftIts cold and I'm sick so here's a short TR. We made our way slowly down Secret Canyon after a lazy start. Straight-forward kind of place with a couple raps that lead to the hot springs and the river. Very cool ending. Blew up the rafts and paddled down to AZ hot springs. At this point there is some current in the river so its pretty fun and easy. Tatahoysa Wash Oct 25, 2015We had an opportunity to run Tatahoysa Wash after a Reggae show in Tuba City before heading back home to Prescott, We drove out to the parking area after the show around midnight navigating in the dark as best we could from Todd's book but soon hit a dead end as the large stock pond it says to drive thru was full of water so we crashed for the night and picked up a road the next morning around the pond and made it to the car park around 8:00 am.
